HELLO!
I`m a new participiant of this project. My name is Aigulu Musaeva, I live
in town Karakol wich is situated in Kyrgyzstan.Kyrgyzstan is situated in the north-eastern part of Central Asia. It covers
an area of 198,500 sq. kilometres. The territory of Kyrgyzia streches for 900 km
from the East to West & over 400 km from the North to South .
Kyrgyzstan borders on Tajikstan in south , Uzbekstan in west ,Kazakhstan
in north & China in south-east/We have many mountains , lakes and rivers in our country. There are 6
regions in Kyrg. they are: Yssyk-Kul , Osh , Talas , Jalal-Abad,Chu & Naryn. As I wrote I live in town Karakol, it is situated in Yssyk-Kul region.
YSSYK-in English means hot & the KUL-means lake. I think that you are
asking why hot lake, it is not hot of course it is named like this because in
a very cold wintetrs the lake doesnt covers by ice & in 1 litre water of this
lake there are 6gm of salt. I know some legends about this lake. The legend sais that in a very very long time ago in a place of this
lake there was one town & one day all the people heard that the war
is begining . The men had to go to the war. There lived one girl who loved one boy and there were big water-through
with its lid on it.The gil every day came here & took water. One day
when she was toking water , heard that the boy (wich she loved) died. She
cried for a long time sitting near the water-through at last she jumped
into the water. The people didnt see that the lid was opened & the water
got out of the w-th. The town covered by water. That is why the water of the lake has a taste of salt .
But it is only legend.Next time I will continiune to describe my
homeland , there are a lot of things to write.Aigulu Musaeva, sch-liceum T.Satylganov.10th G class.
